There’s a particular kind of evening that a restaurant can’t quite give you. Everyone’s already home, nobody’s watching the clock for the table after yours, the wine you brought back from the 290 is open on the counter — and somebody else is cooking.
How it works
Through our partner yhangry, you can add a private chef to your stay at We Wyne Haus. You choose a menu, they come to the Haus in Fredericksburg, cook it in the kitchen, serve it, and tidy up afterwards. You do none of the work and none of the washing up.
It scales to the occasion. A romantic dinner for two on the patio. A grazing table for a group of eight. A birthday where the person whose birthday it is doesn’t spend three hours at the stove.
Why it suits this house in particular
Two reasons. First, the Haus has a proper full kitchen rather than a token one, so a chef has something real to work with. Second, it sleeps up to eight — which means the group is usually large enough that cooking for everyone is a genuine chore, and large enough that a chef makes obvious sense per head.
There’s also an outdoor dining area, a fire pit and patio furniture, which changes the shape of the evening entirely on a mild Hill Country night.
When guests book it
Anniversaries and birthdays, mostly. Also the first night of a longer stay, when nobody wants to shop and cook after a drive from Austin or San Antonio. And — increasingly — the night before a big wine tasting day, when an early, good dinner at home beats a late one in town.
Worth knowing
Arrange it in advance rather than on the day; chefs and menus need lead time, especially on Hill Country weekends when everything in Fredericksburg is busy. Tell us about allergies, dietary requirements and how adventurous the group is, and the menu can be built around it.
Message DeLee before you arrive and she’ll help you set it up — she answers every message personally, usually within a few hours. You can read more about the private chef service here, or check availability at We Wyne Haus and mention it when you book.
